Alauddin A Majid, Chairman of the Board of Director

Mr. Majid was Chief Executive officer of BASIC Bank Ltd., Bangladesh for about six years - first as Acting Managing Director from April 1996 to April 1998 and then Managing Director, April 1998 through November 2001. He retired from the Bank's service at the end of his contract period in November 2001. Under his leadership, the Bank consistently achieved growth in profit, assets, equity and shareholders value, over the period. Mr. Majid, ably supported by dedicated executives and other staff, was able to maintain the Bank's place, in terms of rating, among top ranking banks in Bangladesh.

Md. Asifuzzaman, Managing Director

Started his profession in IBM World Trade Corporation, Bangladesh in 1994. Mr. Asif worked in IBM WTC for five years before joining Standard Chartered Bank, Bangladesh as a Senior Manager in Technology Service Management and finally heading the IT team. He has vast knowledge in mission critical application and infrastructure implementation and management. During his decade-long professional career he managed large & mission critical technology project deployment and operations for multiple customers on behalf of IBM. He had also undergone several infrastructure and application deployment and upgrade projects while in SCB including SCB-Grindlays Technology Integration, centralized core banking roll-out in SCB, Pakistan, etc. Mr. Asif has strong and up-to-date knowledge on available technology products with specialization in high availability infrastructure. He has expert abilities in various aspects of ICT products, system architecture, design and administration.

Noor A Alam Chowdhury, Director

Nearly two decades of experience in ICT. As a professional, Mr. Chowdhury headed the regional Technology Product Management Team based in Dubai for Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) covering 10 countries in Middle East and South Asia during the period of 1999 to 2001. Prior to the regional assignment he was Head of IT of SCB Bangladesh operation for five years. During his tenure SCB Bangladesh had undergone a tremendous technology upgrade which enabled them to become the no. 1 foreign bank in Bangladesh. His experience includes managing various large technology projects for SCB including the SCB–Grindlays Integration, various Technology Platform Migration for acquired Banks in Lebanon, introduction of automated service delivery channels across the region, etc. Prior to joining SCB, he also worked as Manager IT for CIBA-GEIGY (currently Novartis) and National Life Insurance, currently the largest private sector Insurance Company in Bangladesh. Mr. Noor has commendable knowledge in BFIs (including core banking) & ERP application and underlying technology platform.
